Whether you’re concerned about your health and seek peace of mind or you’re feeling motivated to make a change – female health is essential.

How much does a female health assessment cost?

The Essentials assessment costs £445. The Advanced assessment costs £545, which will include more comprehensive pathology biomarkers, suitable for women that may be concerned with various stages of menopause and/or are 50 years old and over.

How long will the assessment take?

Your main assessment is one hour and will take place in our calm, comfortable and discreet Outpatients department. Please allow up to two hours for your assessment to be completed to ensure all the necessary tests can be carried out.

Your assessment will be led by our Private GP and women’s health specialist, Dr Fiona Warner. During the appointment, you’ll have a discussion around your health concerns and any goals you’re striving for. A blood test will be carried out as well as further measurements.

Your health assessment results will be reported to you with your GP's comments via post or email. If required, you can opt to have a 15-minute follow-up appointment.

Can I eat or drink before my assessment?

You don’t need to fast prior to this assessment and can eat breakfast as normal.

Can I bring someone with me to my assessment?

You may bring a friend or family member if it makes you feel more comfortable.

What should I wear for my assessment?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Just be mindful that your blood will be taken, so clothing that offers easy access, usually to your arm, will be needed.

Should the assessment be done at a certain stage of my menstrual cycle?

Your cycle won’t play an important role here, but your GP may ask if you are on your period and at what stage.

Are there any age restrictions for having a health assessment?

We only see patients over the age of 18. This is an opportunity for women of all ages to discuss any female health topic, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

How and when will I get my results?

Your results will be analysed by our trusted and reliable pathology partner and will be ready for you to view when you receive your individual report within two weeks. This will normally be via email or post, if requested.

What happens if my result come back abnormal?

If there are any concerns with your results, we will arrange a 15-minute follow-up to discuss them in detail. We will inform your GP, and you may need to see them for further evaluation.

Depending on the nature of your condition, we can set up a specialist referral appointment at our hospital, or provide you with a referral letter to see a specialist privately. We will advise you on the best course of action based on your specific situation.

Can I exercise the morning of my assessment?

You should avoid strenuous exercise before a health assessment as it can impact the accuracy of your results.

What are the ‘additional tests’ and how do I know if I need them?

The additional tests and scans offered at Benenden Hospital and through our trusted partners are tailored to meet the specific needs of our female patients. During your consultation, our specialists will discuss these options with you and, if relevant, provide a referral.

Please note that these tests are priced separately, are not included in your package price, and may require a visit to a different location.
