I have a question about liposuction

Why would I have liposuction?

If achieving your desired body shape seems elusive through traditional methods, liposuction offers a proven and effective solution. Ideal for those looking to:

  • Eliminate stubborn fat: Bid farewell to resistant fat pockets that defy your hard work
  • Boost confidence: Attain the body you've always envisioned and feel more confident in your skin

What does my patient journey look like

1. Consultation: Your journey starts with a comprehensive consultation. We discuss your goals, answer your questions, and create a personalised plan tailored to your needs.

2. The procedure: Liposuction removes unwanted fat through minimally invasive techniques, ensuring minimal scarring. Our skilled team conducts the procedure with precision and care.

3. Recovery: Our specialised aftercare ensures a speedy and comfortable recovery. While some time to rest and recover is expected, you should be back to your routine within two weeks. The Benenden Hospital 'Fixed Price Package' includes dedicated support from our cosmetic team during your recovery.

What happens at a liposuction consultation?

Our experienced Consultants evaluate your individual needs, discuss your goals, assess your condition, and recommend the best approach for your unique situation.

What happens during liposuction surgery?

Depending on the area being treated, the surgery, lasting between one and three hours, involves small incisions and the use of a liposuction cannula. Your Consultant ensures minimal scarring, infiltrating the area with saline, local anaesthetic, and adrenaline to enhance the process.

Recovery and aftercare: What should you expect?

Following surgery, mild soreness is normal, alleviated by basic painkillers. Wearing a compression garment for six weeks aids in shaping and reducing swelling. Depending on your recovery, you may return home the same day or stay overnight.

You'll have a wound check appointment one to two weeks post-op and further follow ups with your Consultant.

When can I drive?

You should avoid driving for approximately 10-14 days until you are able to safely take control of a vehicle.

When can I exercise?

You should avoid undertaking any vigorous or strenuous activity or exercise for up to four to six weeks following surgery.

When can I return to work?

Most patients take one to two weeks off work to rest and recover.

How long do the results of liposuction last?

Liposuction removes fat cells, and while they don't grow back, the remaining cells can expand. Our cosmetic team ensures you have the guidance needed for long-term success in maintaining your desired results.
