Three members of staff at Benenden Hospital are busy planning trips overseas after winning travelling fellowships.
Radiographer Paul Collier is off to the Fortris Memorial Hospital in Northern India, one of the most advanced hospitals in the world and Sarah Middleton and Jenny Bewsey will be going to Germany to learn more about gynaecology, from leading experts there.
Benenden Hospital and healthcare provider Benenden run the Lord Plant Travelling Fellowship once a year. Staff can apply for up to £3,000 to carry out a project for professional or personal development.
Paul will look at radiology and equipment and will find out more about the Fortris private healthcare model.
Paul said: “I hope to go at the end of January next year, or the beginning of February, which is when the climate will be most comfortable. I will look at staffing levels and costs. While there I’d like to visit a Government hospital too, to see the difference.”
Sarah and Jenny will go to a hospital to visit a gynaecology department which is considered to be one of the best in Europe.
All will take their learnings back to Benenden Hospital.
