A competition which encourages young people and families to get creative in the kitchen has been launched.
Kent Cooks 2016 is organised by the KM Charity Team. Benenden Hospital is one of the sponsors.
The official launch of the contest took place at Chequers Kitchen Cookery School in Deal and was attended by Jack Harland, Assistant to the Hospital Director.
Jack said: “We are delighted to be part of this event because we take healthy eating and diet very seriously and we are also keen to see young people be given opportunities to grown, develop and thrive.”
The competition is open for nominations and junior chefs aged 19 and under. Kent Cooks is divided into three categories – primary, secondary and family.
Chefs are encouraged to produce healthy and cost effective meals which incorporate local ingredients and produce. All nominations must be received by November 1 and all applicants are required to send a photograph of their signature dish as well as a recipe card.
