On 14 February 2025, Benenden Hospital welcomed Katie Lam, MP for Weald of Kent. She took a detailed tour of the leading private hospital, near Cranbrook, meeting with nurses, administration and support service staff in the outpatient department and wards.

Hospital Director Claire Harley said: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome our local MP, Katie Lam, to our hospital. Her visit provided a valuable opportunity to discuss our commitment to supporting the NHS as part of the government’s new partnership agreement and she was keen to hear about the research conducted as part of Benenden Health’s Gender Health Gap campaign.

“We were pleased to share our long 118-year history of care with her and to talk to her about our amazing, dedicated staff and their commitment to delivering high quality care for our patients. We hope to welcome her back very soon.”

Katie Lam, MP for Weald of Kent, said: “It was fantastic to visit Benenden Hospital and learn from the hardworking staff about their Dignity Day as part of Dignity Action Month, where they are working to promote respect in the delivery of care by making sure patients’ voices are heard.”
