A T-shirt signed by Olympic gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy has been presented to the construction company working on Benenden Hospital’s multi-million pound redevelopment.
Last September a team of 22 intrepid cyclists took part in a challenge to ride 600 miles from Glasgow to the Benenden offices in York and then from York to Benenden Hospital in Kent to raise money for the Benenden Charitable Trust and SAMH, for Scotland’s Mental Health. The ride was called Cycle GB.
Taking part were cyclists from Benenden, Benenden Hospital, insurance brokers Keegan and Pennykid and the insurance group RSA.
Willmott Dixon, the main contractor working on the Hospital’s redevelopment, were one of the sponsors.
Last week Benenden Hospital’s Finance Director Gordon Boyd presented the signed and framed Cycle GB T-shirt to Rob Douglas, Construction Manager with Willmott Dixon.
Sir Chris Hoy MBE is one of Great Britain’s most successful Olympic athletes of all time with six gold medals and one silver. He has been an Ambassador with SAMH since 2009.
