Benenden Hospital has been given an award for supporting local charities and good causes.
The Hospital was given a Partnership Award by the Kent Messenger Charity Team – for helping them to deliver a range of events from charity walks and runs, to quizzes and charity challenges.
Last year the Hospital supported a Kent Messenger Charity Team abseil event, by entering a team of staff in the daredevil challenge. This year the Hospital is supporting the KM Charity Team in organising a charity walk in June.
The award was presented to Hospital Director Jane Abbott. The Hospital was one of 50 organisations honoured at the inaugural KM Partnership Awards, held in Sittingbourne.
Events the KM Charity Team has planned for this year include an assault course challenge, a 5 km run, a Bright Sparks awards, a Kent Cooks event and a charity bike ride.
Jane Abbott said: “The Hospital is delighted to support local initiatives, particularly those which focus on health and wellbeing, something our organisation is always keen to be part of.”
Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, said: “We are thrilled to officially recognise and thank our key partners. Their support enables us to run highly successful fundraising events for good causes as well as help to improve health, fitness and literacy in hundreds of schools.”
