Two of Benenden Hospital’s “unsung heroes” have been recognised and rewarded for their efforts
The 2016 winners of the Rising Mercury Society Unsung Heroes Award were staff members Megan Lee and Mary Farris. The RM Society are friends and fundraisers for the Hospital and present the awards once a year.
Megan joined the Human Resources Department as an Apprentice in February 2015. The apprenticeship lasted one year and afterwards Megan was offered an extension to continue working in the department. She is currently studying for her Chartered Institute of Personnel and Deveolpment exams, as well as being a mother of two.
Liz Godwin, Chair of the Rising Mercury Society, said: “Megan has proved to be a real asset not only to the HR Department but to the Hospital as a whole.”
The other winner was Mary Farris who has worked at the Hospital for 35 years. She is responsible for Payroll and is well known and respected around the site. Liz praised Mary’s “commitment” to the organisation.
Both winners have been given framed certificates.
