About Ms Lesnik-Oberstein
I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with extensive experience in a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including complex cataract surgery and all forms of surgery of the retina.
Graduating with distinction in 1992 from the medical school at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, I moved to the United Kingdom to commence my ophthalmic training in Canterbury and London. I subsequently completed my sub speciality training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Western Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, with fellowships in medical retina and surgical retina.
With a particular interest in research, I completed my PhD in retinal neuroscience in 2006 at the University of California, Santa Barbara in America and am widely published in peer reviewed publications.
I was the senior vitreoretinal consultant at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam for 13 years from 2003 to 2016.
