About Mr Thakral
My initial training was in India, where I qualified with a First Class Degree from the Maharishi Dayanand University, followed by a Masters in Orthopaedics in 1992 from Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. The remainder of my training was carried out in the United Kingdom.
I have considerable experience in shoulder arthroscopic surgery, performing complex joint replacements for arthritis and trauma and have extensive hand surgery practice including carpal tunnel release and Dupuytren’s surgery, plus wrist surgery including fusions and scaphoid fractures.
I am committed to education, with a special interest in teaching junior surgeons and am an examiner for MSc (Orthopaedics). I am also a GMC recognised trainer.
In addition to the services I offer at Benenden Hospital, I am a NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working with the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since 2007, specialising in upper limb surgery.
