About Mr Lake
After completing my general ophthalmology training, I was granted fellowship positions at Moorfields Hospital, London and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.
My expertise is in corneal transplantation, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. I lecture in these topics nationally and internationally and have produced published research in peer reviewed journals.
At Benenden Hospital, I am one of two consultants delivering the 'Special Lens Service' which involves the implantation of multifocal and astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses.
In addition to the services I provide at Benenden Hospital, I also work with the NHS as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead where I am also the Clinical Director of the Corneo-Plastic Unit and Eye Bank.
I am the current Chair of the Ocular Tissue Transplantation and Standards Group at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and since 2008 have represented the Queen Victoria Hospital Eye Bank at the Ocular Tissue Advisory Group.
