About Kate Comrie
I graduated from the University of Surrey in March 2010 with a DipHE in Adult Nursing. I then went to work in the Surgical Assessment Unit in the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) in Guildford. I later returned to University to study Midwifery and again later to complete the Nursing Mentorship degree as well as increasing my skills and knowledge working in A&E and on some of the Surgical wards.
I then moved and worked in the Surgical Assessment Unit at Frimley Park Hospital as a Senior Staff Nurse before leaving the NHS and moving to a private hospital in Surrey. There, I worked on the ward before taking on the role of Cosmetic Nurse and working up to Cosmetic Nurse Specialist. After nearly seven years I decided I needed a new challenge, and I moved to Benenden Hospital to help build, develop, and grow the cosmetic service as the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Plastic/Cosmetic Surgery.
Since joining Benenden Hospital, I have continued to develop and learn further skills including undertaking a Complete Practitioner Course in Foundation and Advanced Botox and Dermal Filler training. I have also completed masterclasses in expert lip filler and Facial Mastery including additional practice days.
My role supports our Cosmetic and Aesthetic Consultants and patients throughout their journey. I’m present at all cosmetic outpatient appointments; I complete pre-operative assessments and see patients for their post-operative wound checks and dressing changes. I strive to ensure that any questions are answered and that I reassure patients with any concerns prior, during and after their treatment.
