About Dr Banerjee
I have over 15-years’ experience in sleep and respiratory medicine and have been at the Medway NHS Foundation Trust since 2013. I’m a Senior Consultant with the respiratory medicine department.
I have developed special interest in airway diseases and sleep medicine. I’m also a specialist in investigation the breathless patient and working on solutions for patients that have protracted coughs. Additionally, I have expertise in smoking related lung problems, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, pleural diseases, non-invasive ventilation and sleep disordered breathing.
I completed my postgraduate training at the East of England Deanery which included a year of specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine at the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. I gained a further 4-years’ experience at the world-renowned Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and completed my MD (Research) from the University of Hertfordshire.
I’ve developed an excellent reputation due to the specialist expertise gained through several years of academic and clinical work at tertiary centres and the range of treatments I can provide. I am regularly asked to train new medical staff.
