We are currently recruiting for a Decontamination Services Technician to support clinical activity and excellence in patient safety by providing a controlled Decontamination Service for reusable medical devices at the hospital. This position is permanent and full time.

About the role

You will be expected to contribute and to support the department’s best practice and continuous improvements.
As our DS Technician you’ll plan and priorities your workload with consideration to the DS Team and the needs of our patients and work in accordance with the department’s Standard Operating and Procedures and Quality Management System.
You will play a vital part to reprocess reusable surgical instruments and operate decontamination equipment safely carrying out important routine daily tests as set out in the DS Planned Preventative Maintenance and periodic testing schedule.
Using the electronic and tradability system, you will accurately record information and report breakdowns and resource issues in a timely manner.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3/Technical Certificate Decontamination or equivalent level or knowledge and experience through decontamination training or a willingness to undertake
- Good IT skills
- Working in a timely manner while achieving high levels of accuracy
- Be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the workplace
