About the role
The purpose of the role will be to ensure the safe dispensing and supply of medicines to all our patients and be actively involved in ensuring that medicine management is optimised in the peri-operative period.
The Flexi-bank Pharmacy Technician will Identify and prioritise unintentional discrepancies through effective medicines reconciliation, reducing the risk of missed doses and medication errors and will ensure patient’s own drugs are safe to use during their hospital admission
Skills and experience required
- NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification
- Registration with GPhC and evidence of CPD
- At least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience
- Experience of working within a healthcare team
- Experience of working in a busy dispensary environment
- Previous hospital experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience of supervising other staff is desirable
- Experience and skills in using computer programs and harnessing technology to enhance the Pharmacy service
- Previous experience of audit and data collection
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues
- Evidence of good customer service skills and awareness
